Crazy Dave aka January 19th

He is not that crazy.  He unloaded it very carefully and chamber checked several times.  Well "It" is a Glock 23.  Well still, this is exactly why we call him crazy Dave.  This shot was made with my new cardboard and plastic straw snoot.  I did do a little photoshop action to add some more drama, but who needs more drama when you hang around this guy?

 This is from a quick shoot that I did for my friend Nick Osuna aka Nicki O and his new business card shot.  Go figure.  The first shot is great because of my favorite depth of field effect, the Bokeh.   He wanted to showcase his tattoos and his shears in these photos.  The second photo is the one he rejected for the card, but I love the dirtiness of it. I added some corny blood and shazamm! Cool HDR arm.

January 16th aka prep for tomorrow

I have a friend from high school coming over to take photos for his business card.  My fever is gone and I am feeling a bit better.  I used this copy of the Blue Line to test out how high I had to be to photograph a normal sized arm with my prime lens.  My friend is a hair stylist and we are going to shoot a picture of him holding his shears.

These days consisted of high fever and bed ridden me.  No photos taken to say the least, but I am definitely better now.

Ghosts from the Freeway aka January 13th

I was walking to court from my parking spot near the entrance of China Town.  I was in a hurry because I wanted to be on time to make sure that someone that was in jail, stays in jail.  However, while on the overpass of the 101 freeway I saw a great opportunity to use my Iphone's HDR program to photograph the freeway.  I also did some editing in post with the camera+ program as well.  If you look closely you can see my shadow on the freeway amidst all of the disappearing cars.

Self portrait aka January 12th

This is me in all of my 6 am glory.  I just got the baffle for my soft box and needless to say, I really wanted to test it out.  This self photo was not easy, being that there was no assistance and I had to hold the reflector myself, on myself.  No need for hair do's on this one.... but I did add some detail in post.  Made me look a bit older and wiser.

Well I am officially pissed off at my computer. I was getting ready to post some new photos I took yesterday on my SLR and the card deleted them somehow and left me empty handed. I took this picture of my girlfriend's dog Goliath when he went along with us to the doctors office. He was going nuts looking outside if the car and growling at dark people... Damm racist dog.

All of this from two small cracks on the ground on the corner of Hobart and 91st St.  It really seems to me that the LADWP needs to get on this horrific crime of water wasting.  Where is your water patrol now Villaragoosa?  Nevertheless it makes for some good pictures of odd things that are out and about.

This shot was done with a program called Percolator... It can make some pretty nice photos, but it can also make the pics look like crap if it's not the right picture. Well let me know if u can guess where I am when I took this :)...

I thought Chinese stars are supposed to be red.  Well it looks good hanging in my backyard.  I still have to take that damm sticker off.  Well Communism is hanging in my backyard.  I leave it on my orange tree and not in my agenda.

January 6th aka Soda Kamikazi

This is the end of the night that started on January 5th.  At this point the staff was trying to kick everyone out.  However, this was not done before we got to join our neighboring tables in the soda pyramid smash!  We had the older Korean lady that worked at Manna Korean BBQ in Korea Town Los Angeles.  The night ended up awesome.  The staff here was great tonight... usually the older Koreans hate us non-Korean round eye... especially when were Hispanic and speak Spanish to each other.   They hate that. ;)

January 4th aka Chencho's Legs

My partner and I were driving around in the wee hours looking for some evil and we came upon this single street.  In this picture it's not that clear, but the street looks like a block in a Mexican city not it's actual South Los local.   My Partner Chencho, the honorary Mexican that's really Philipino, stood in for this shot and was the clarity for the mostly off focus picture.

January 3rd 2011 aka Old School Cell Phone

This little box was sitting in the Officers waiting room at the courthouse downtown. I have been here dozens and dozens of times, but I have never noticed it. Maybe because this is the first time I turned the lights on. It looks like this was the 2 way speaker attorneys used to get a hold of coppers on their court break. Now it just sits in the corner.

January 2nd 2011 aka Central and Florence 0400 AM

It slowed down at work tonight... So I took my shop to Florence and Central, then faced the black and white towards the Huntington Park side... they have much classier lights on their side... made for some good bokeh (light blur)...  Then off to save the world

It's the official MR and Mrs January 1st 2011... This lucky couple happened to be in a kissy mood around midnight and I was sick enough to stand there and catch them do it.   Now can anyone guess how much taller than him she is ... guess ...  She just swept that young man off his feet now didn't she???
