February 13th aka... Lip Service

Ok for some reason someone does this every time I clean my window near my door.  They press their greasy lips against my window and leave this familiar lip print for all to see.  It just looks dirty... did anyone's mother tell teach them some sanitation!?

February 12th aka... COWBOY evil!

This is a ball of energy ... aka Josiah.  Little guy will stick his fingers into any light socket and will tear apart any piece of expensive equipment, but apparently I cannot tell him what to do because he is not my kid:).  Well I know that my house will be run differently, but we shall see how different says my significant other.  He is a cutie, but his is a hand full of human that walks like he rides a horse all day.

February 11th ... aka the hundreds

These assholes have been killing each other left and right lately... thats why were cruising this beautiful ally trying to catch one or two and get them off of the street.  They get the royal treatment if they get caught... royal asshole treatment.  However, even if we don't catch them soon... I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around and Karma will eventually catch up to these hooligans.

February 10th aka... yellow light

Big red bone... right after we shot our guns for practice.  We were in San Pedro at the range shooting cardboard.  This was the day we got rid of out normal ammo so it won't rot in our magazine pouches.  He unlike others were ok with standing by for a few snaps of the camera.  The yellow light everywhere makes me have to work a little more in photoshop, but it is quite all right.

February 9th aka... City Hall East WESt

This photo was taken during the last duty of the day, dropping off some paperwork downtown.  We had a little downtime before we jetted down to the South end and we took some shots in between city hall East and West.  It is very peaceful there before the rush hits down and the majority come out to play.

February 8th aka.... Black and White

One two what do we do... Thats my black and white right before I shipped off to handle business.  My partner and I were in the parking garage gathering equipment, me gathering my camera.  These cars get a lot of use and it's out job not to thrash them.  Well it doesn't work out that way.  I used my nifty wide angle and my topaz adjust to bring out the detail in photoshop.  Lots of range now in the concrete and everywhere for that matter.

February 7th aka.... Shear Ink Press Kit

This is one of my Favs from the Shear Ink photoshoot with Dani Tygr.  She has never modeled for anything and still did a good job... not great but good :) JK DANI!!!, never good when your model gets injured during the shoot.  Note to self... always have your models stretch  I decided to go with movement on this one.  Her and her business partner are gathering photos for their portfolio and their website.  Not yet up, but I will plug them when it is!

February 6th aka... MIA's Bday!

Well two occasions on this day... Super Bowl... and more importantly Mia Ramos's Birthday party... This little doll, who is my cousin, had a blast at her party... I was jumping through different lenses and trying to get those fun kid shots.  These are two of my favorite, but the swing shot is a great at catching the energy of this child's birthday party.

February 5th aka... glass face

All done with my beer and what do I see... an Asian guy who is allergic to beer.  Ironic.  My phone takes awesome shots.  Even when Im hammered.

February 4th aka... SWAT son!

Well its the one and only LAPD Swat... doing some shenanigans and raiding bad guys... and bringing them out in their skippies... They roll out in these kick ass rides... I want me one of them rides... then all the ladies would say ... DAMM... jk.. don't kill me girlfriend

February 3rd... aka Head

Back of my partner's head.  Just like most cops he hates his picture on the internet.  So the back of his head is good enough while sitting on a perimeter for a bad dude with a gun.  No dice though... he was probably sitting in his buddy's house eating cheerios and playing playstation with his gun.

February 1st aka.... my rooms light

Got this light from West Elm.  Thanks to having friends that work there I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it.  Got a little bit of flare from my filter, but I am A OK with that ... still looked pretty cool.

Today me and my bro were on the way to pick up my girl from work.  We decided to stop and get some Mariscos (seafood) on the way.  Was not as good as I thought it was gonna be... next time Ill just go to the spot we love...

January 30th aka.... NAHA shoot

Photo Shoot in Newport Beach.  These ladies had me take some photos for their hair competition.  We had a good time.. and got some good stuff today, good time had by all.   My soft box had a hard days work in this shoot.  Up down and everywhere we utilized this beautiful home in Newport Beach.

My buddy Nick Osuna is a Hair Stylist needed some shots for his hair stylings.  We had a good time; starting off with platinum motorsports in Los Angeles and the 4th street bridge in East Los Angeles.  The models were a lot of fun and we got some great shots.

This was taken during a high risk stop in the beautiful city of Los Angeles.   Here you can see one of my bros taking care of business and cuffing up a Suspect... This shot was extremely red due to all of the red lights coming from the Police cars so photoshop had to come to the rescue to fix this great shot.  Nice posing Josh

Crazy Dave aka January 19th

He is not that crazy.  He unloaded it very carefully and chamber checked several times.  Well "It" is a Glock 23.  Well still, this is exactly why we call him crazy Dave.  This shot was made with my new cardboard and plastic straw snoot.  I did do a little photoshop action to add some more drama, but who needs more drama when you hang around this guy?

 This is from a quick shoot that I did for my friend Nick Osuna aka Nicki O and his new business card shot.  Go figure.  The first shot is great because of my favorite depth of field effect, the Bokeh.   He wanted to showcase his tattoos and his shears in these photos.  The second photo is the one he rejected for the card, but I love the dirtiness of it. I added some corny blood and shazamm! Cool HDR arm.

January 16th aka prep for tomorrow

I have a friend from high school coming over to take photos for his business card.  My fever is gone and I am feeling a bit better.  I used this copy of the Blue Line to test out how high I had to be to photograph a normal sized arm with my prime lens.  My friend is a hair stylist and we are going to shoot a picture of him holding his shears.

These days consisted of high fever and bed ridden me.  No photos taken to say the least, but I am definitely better now.

Ghosts from the Freeway aka January 13th

I was walking to court from my parking spot near the entrance of China Town.  I was in a hurry because I wanted to be on time to make sure that someone that was in jail, stays in jail.  However, while on the overpass of the 101 freeway I saw a great opportunity to use my Iphone's HDR program to photograph the freeway.  I also did some editing in post with the camera+ program as well.  If you look closely you can see my shadow on the freeway amidst all of the disappearing cars.

Self portrait aka January 12th

This is me in all of my 6 am glory.  I just got the baffle for my soft box and needless to say, I really wanted to test it out.  This self photo was not easy, being that there was no assistance and I had to hold the reflector myself, on myself.  No need for hair do's on this one.... but I did add some detail in post.  Made me look a bit older and wiser.

Well I am officially pissed off at my computer. I was getting ready to post some new photos I took yesterday on my SLR and the card deleted them somehow and left me empty handed. I took this picture of my girlfriend's dog Goliath when he went along with us to the doctors office. He was going nuts looking outside if the car and growling at dark people... Damm racist dog.

All of this from two small cracks on the ground on the corner of Hobart and 91st St.  It really seems to me that the LADWP needs to get on this horrific crime of water wasting.  Where is your water patrol now Villaragoosa?  Nevertheless it makes for some good pictures of odd things that are out and about.

This shot was done with a program called Percolator... It can make some pretty nice photos, but it can also make the pics look like crap if it's not the right picture. Well let me know if u can guess where I am when I took this :)...
